Location and Surrounding Area
UCVFD Station 9 is located at 9406 Romancoke Road in Stevensville, Maryland. We are located in Queen Anne’s County, just over the Bay Bridge, at the southern end of Kent Island.
We respond to more than 500 emergency calls each year, serving a rapidly, growing community of over 2,500 homes within our 22.5-square-mile first due area. In addition, we provide mutual aid to surrounding areas, including northern Kent Island, Grasonville, Queenstown, and parts of Anne Arundel County.
Station Facilities
UCVFD Station 9 was originally built in 1978 with a new addition completed in 2003, and features:
- 4 apparatus bays for two engines, a tanker, a special unit, and a utility unit. Separate bay for 2 ambulances. Our fireboat, Marine 9, is docked off-site at North Pond, off of Eastern Bay.
- Onsite fueling
- Day Room with cable TV and a gaming console
- Large modern kitchen for preparing meals
- Spacious training room/meeting room with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment
- 1 private bunk room for live-ins and a second bunk room for duty crews
- Washer and dryer
- A library with computers available to all members
- Free wireless internet throughout the building
