It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tyler Hendrix on June 21. Though his time on earth was far too short, Tyler left a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him.

Born in Pineville, North Carolina, Tyler grew up in both Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kent Island, Maryland building strong friendships and creating countless memories along the way. Known casually as “T-Man,” “T,” and “Bubble Butt,” Tyler had a personality that could light up any room. He was Tough, adventurous, and hardworking but what really set Tyler apart is his willingness to help others; a trait he carried through his entire life.

Tyler was the beloved son of Jimmy and Mel Hendrix and a cherished brother to Drew Hendrix. He was deeply loved by his grandparents, including Grandpa Scott, Pop Pop Emmy, Gram Pam, Grandma Joyce, and his extended family, all of whom will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

A dedicated young man with a strong desire to serve others, Tyler completed the K-Tech SC-TE Program and earned certifications in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat, and EMT training. He worked for Top Notch Marine as a marine technician and volunteered with the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department, demonstrating his commitment to helping his community and those in need. Tyler has been dedicated to this journey since a very young man, starting the cadet program with the United Communities Fire Department at 10 years old; Tyler has never steered away from wanting to help his community.

Tyler had a passion for the outdoors and loved the thrill of adventure. Whether he was mountain biking, riding motocross, or snowboarding, he embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to its fullest. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Cooper, who was a constant companion and source of joy.

Looking toward the future, Tyler had plans to join the United States Air Force and continue on to serve in the special forces; a dream that reflected his courage, dedication, and desire to serve his country.

Tyler will be remembered for his infectious smile, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends. While his loss leaves an immeasurable void, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
