Firefighter Michael Schwink 

It is with deep sadness that the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland, announces the untimely passing of Firefighter/EMT Michael Clark Schwink.  Michael has been battling cancer for two years and succumbed on June 14, 2009.  Firefighter Schwink has been with United Communities Volunteer Fire Department since 2005 and recently receive his certification as an EMT. At the time of his death he was assistant treasure, serving his second term on the board of directors and the uniform committee.

He is survived by his newlywed wife and best friend Melissa Lynn Schwink.  His is also survived by a loving family, including his parents Patricia and Glenn Schwink; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Laura Schwink; maternal grandparents, Rena and Garrett German; his paternal grandfather, Eugene Schwink; mother-in-law, Pamela McNicol; father-in-law, Stuart McNicol; sister-in-law, Heather McNicol; nieces Olivia and Jesse; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral arrangements have been made, with viewing at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, located at 106 Shamrock Road in Chester, Maryland on Tuesday, June 16th, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 17th at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at the Stevensville Cemetery, 808 Main Street, Stevensville, Maryland.
